The conflict in the Tigray region of Ethiopia has led to significant gender-based violence (GBV) and affected adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). According to reports, between November 2020 and June 2021, over 10,000 survivors sought services for sexual violence at health facilities across Tigray. However, this number is likely underreported due to limited healthcare access and the stigma associated with seeking help.

The situation remains dire, with many survivors facing challenges in accessing necessary health, social welfare, and justice services. Efforts are ongoing to provide support and reduce the risks of future incidents.
